Marte is the Director of Agenda. She came from the position as an Executive Vice President at DNB, Norway’s largest financial group, and before that as the Secretary General of CARE Norway. Previously, she worked nine years for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in various capacities, including as a diplomat at the Embassy in Jakarta, as an advisor to the UN section, and as an advisor to the Environment section of the MFA. Marte also served as an advisor to the group Social Democrats against the European Union, in 1994.
Marte serves on the board of the Norwegian Peace Building Resource Centre (NOREF) and as a member of the Advisory Council for The Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights. In the past, Marte has been a member of the government-appointed Panel on Capital Flight, served on the board of CARE International, as well as the board of the Norwegian Refugee Council. She has led the Labor Party’s Youth League (AUF) in Oslo, and served on the national steering committees for AUF and Young Friends of the Earth Norway.
Marte holds an MSc in Political Science from the London School of Economics.
